TEACHERS REPORT-

“Only if we understand, will we care. Only if we care, will
we help. Only if we help, shall all be saved.”

              Jane Good all

With an aim to make our future generations understand
the threat the environment faces due to the single use

plastic this project was taken up. In 2015 the city of
Chennai faced a flood which brought misery to all. It was
evident that the situation worsened with choked drains

with plastic. We as a school decided to be part of making
that change, to educate our students and help them
make a sincere effort to spread this awareness among

the residents living around the school. It was an
experience to see them understand the seriousness of
this issue, to hear them discuss the alternative solutions,

to try and develop it as a habit to avoid single use plastic.
If we could spread this awareness among students then

we can hope for more responsible future citizens, each
doing their bit to be a part of a solution and not the
              problem.

Our allotted time for the project was to collaborate with

the St,Xaviers Kathmandu,Nepal during the month of
March and April 2020. These two month are the time for

annual examinations for our school, a period of an
academic year getting over and a new one beginning. We
got in touch with the partner school in August 2019 and
continued sharing activities and interacting. In the month

of March when we were to begin working together in a
more structured manner the schools were shut down due

              to the pandemic,
