COMPUTER AND EMAIL FACILITIES GENERAL INFORMATION
Computers and information technology are very much part of everyday life
in Maseno University.
They are used to support teaching, research and communications gener-
ally. There is a wide range of IT equipment on the campus including over
1,000 PCs connected to a network allowing rapid access to information
and computing resources throughout the world. Students can have access
to the computer facilities through the clusters of PCs available in many
departments. There is also closed access WiFi available while on campus.
Registered students can connect their laptop, iPad and phones to the
Maseno University network and Internet using wireless technology, (visit
www.masenoeduroam.blogspot.co.ke) Wireless hotspots are accessible
in the library and restaurant areas on the Main Campus and Kisumu Cam -
pus.
Every student on campus has an account on student@maseno.ac.ke
which is set up specifically to provide email facilities. Personal email facil-
ities are available to each new student at time of registration (enrolment)
and remain in place for as long as s/he is registered as a Maseno student.
