Spring Celebration success
MIL was pleased to host our second annual Spring Celebration!
On Saturday, March 30th, 2019, employees who reside in
the DC, Maryland/Southern Maryland, and Virginia areas
and their immediate families were treated to a day of fun at
Kings Dominion! The event celebrated MIL’s honor as a “Top
Workplace,” “Best Small & Medium Workplace,” and a “Best
Workplace for Diversity” by The Washington Post and Fortune
Magazine. Both of these awards recognize the high employee
satisfaction levels MIL sustains, which we believe reflects
positively on the collaborative work environment being fostered
by managers and workers alike.
As a family-run business, MIL places a priority on appreciating
not only the work that you do, but also in recognizing your family
and friends, as they often contribute to your ability to make the
difference at MIL. Employees enjoyed meeting each other (and Above: Rhonda Cadogan, AVP Proposals & Marketing poses with Snoopy!

See what’s happening at DoS: Reforming cost & schedule reporting
MIL is responsible for overseeing the cost and scheduling of software release projects for multiple financial applications at the U.S.
Department of State’s Comptroller and Global Financial Services, Global Financial Management Systems office (CGFS/GFMS).
Accurately measuring and analyzing the real cost and schedule of projects and programs for multiple financial applications is
challenging. In addition, the Global Financial Architecture Administration (GFAA) requires that CGFS/GFMS projects follow a
standardized process to ensure CMMI Level 2 compliance.
GFAA manages and maintains over two dozen financial
management systems with multiple projects in various lifecycle
stages. These projects involve work from multiple vendors with Did you know?

measuring and analyzing project progress is taxing and the
process to make data-based decisions and take corrective action is
burdensome. (Continued, pg. 6)
