Dear HR,
Our clients are beginning to discuss returning to the office after one year of working
from home. As a supervisor, what is the process if an employee requests a workplace
accommodation or alternative work arrangement after being told that they need to return
to the client workplace? I want to be sure to handle this correctly!
Thank you,
Concerned Supervisor
Dear Concerned Supervisor,
Once an employee receives their actual return to work date, they should contact
their HR Business Partner (HRBP) to discuss their options. Employees requesting an
accommodation due to their own disability may request a COVID-19 Accommodation
form. This form is sent through Taleo and begins the interactive ADA process. The process
will include review and input from the supervisor, Vice President, and HR.
The HR Business Partner will facilitate an interactive discussion with the employee and
supervisor to discuss outcomes. Please contact your HRBP if you have additional questions
or would like a copy of the process.
