Final Thoughts: Now What?
The MIL Pledge focuses on respecting and communicating with colleagues and having a sense of ownership.
Now that we have concluded the series, you may ask, NOW WHAT?
Lead the charge!
You do this by setting the example. On a daily basis, you must be committed and engaged in action that
demonstrates your beliefs in The Pledge.
As a manager you have the ability and duty to foster the culture through modeling the behaviors you’ve learned
about. Exemplary leaders know that if they want to gain commitment and achieve the highest standards, they
must be models of the behavior they expect of others. Start with opportunities to engage junior colleagues. These
exchanges are not heavy lifts, yet they create the foundation for collegiality, sponsorship, and mentoring.
