the Enterprise newspaper, Bob’s 55-year civil service tenure was celebrated with a tribute

article traces Bob’s path from the University of Maryland as a newly minted engineer to his
retirement from the civilian ranks over five decades later.
According to the article’s author, Rick Boyd, “Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md., 5th) said this
month that Waxman was not just one of the best civil servants he’s ever met. He was one of
the best leaders of ‘any enterprise, public or private.’”
Upon his retirement from government service in 2006, Bob brought his wealth of
knowledge and insight to MIL, where he’s dispersed his unique form of ‘benevolence’ for
the last decade. Bob recently celebrated his 91st birthday in October. Please join us in
wishing him many happy returns!
