Regional financial management system/cashiering
MIL employees across several teams have been working hard
since 2015 on the RFMS/C project, which recently implemented
its first successful pilot. RFMS/C, or Regional Financial
Management System/Cashiering, is redesigning COAST
Cashiering into a centralized, web-based application, which
will improve overall security, streamline cashiering-business
processes, and centralize maintenance and support.
Hosted at CGFS (Comptroller and Global Financial Services),
RFMS/C will be accessed by all Department of State cashiers
across the globe, as opposed to the legacy application COAST,
which is installed and maintained locally for each instance in
production.
The RFMS/C software was created in installments of five different
builds over the last five years. In total, MIL employees in Project
Management, Analysis & Design, Testing, and Documentation
have executed 850 tests against 1,800 functional requirements,
and created 27 requirement documents, 33 design documents,
20 user/training manuals, and dozens of project management
documents.
In March 2019, Internal User Acceptance Testing (UAT) was MIL staff, led by Shannon Brown, attended the Thailand pilot,
