ITA Commended for High School
Internship Program
The National Academy Foundation of Information
Technology at McKinley Technology High School,
in NE, Washington, D.C., extends their thanks to the
International Trade Administration (ITA) Office of
the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) for its efforts in
supporting a number of students with an internship
experience this summer. ITA/OCIO kicked off its first
year welcoming 20 students between the ages of 15-17
to work a six-week internship. MIL employee, Autumn
Banks served as the program coordinator supporting
and maintaining the program, ITA managers, and
the interns. McKinley awarded Autumn, along with
Joe Paiva, Chief Information Officer, ITA, and other
organizations, a certificate of appreciation at their
evening event held on October 6th, 2015. Currently, Autumn is helping ITA to prepare for the kickoff of its second intern session in
December during the students’ holiday break. Autumn has also become a mentor to three of the students from the program, and is
working to provide them with support in college preparation, community service opportunities, and personal development.
