Moving up at MIL
Besides supporting our communities, MIL also cares for and invests in our
own people, including in their growth and career advancement. One of the
ways we ensure that all MIL team members are able to thrive and progress at
MIL is by contributing to their professional development. In the past, we’ve
used contributions towards external training programs and MILTON, tuition
reimbursement for continuing education, and defrayed costs for industry
affiliations, seminars, and conferences to support employee efforts. For staff just
starting out on new career paths, we’ve also promoted internal cross-training,
summer internships, and “boot camps” geared towards mentoring junior staff.
And this year, MIL introduced the IDP program to formalize our internal career
development process.
As a result of MIL’s involvement and their own hard work, dedication, and
MIL still CARES determination, 48 MIL staff were promoted in 2022. In addition to staff
promoted this year, many employees have taken the next important steps in
their MIL careers. Professional development took the form of more challenging
MIL has continued on our mission to give back to the communities that give assignments, additional or more advanced duties and responsibilities, as well
so generously to us. Over the past year, MIL and MIL team members have as opportunities to learn a new skill, deepen an area of expertise, or grow
contributed time and resources to a number of worthwhile and community professionally in any number of ways. We congratulate each and every person
building projects and events alongside organizations such as the DC’s Girls that grew and advanced at MIL in 2022. We look forward to seeing what you

the professional community, MIL has also continued our support to pro-business
groups such as the Association of Government Accountants, the Patuxent
Partnership, the Charleston Regional Development Alliance, and Leadership
Southern Maryland, among others.
