t is possible that someday, somewhere, someone will discover tangible
records that link the now theoretical father-son relationship between
IFRANCIS FOY and THOMAS FOY. Likewise, it is possible more definitive
information will be found establishing THOMAS FOY as the father of the five
FOY boys who grew up in the same region and at the same time THOMAS lived.
But, as of this writing, there is little more than speculation to establish FRANCIS
FOY and THOMAS FOY as father and son and there is nothing but
circumstantial information linking THOMAS FOY as the father of JOHN FOY,
THOMAS FOY JR, JAMES FOY, JACOB FOY and FREDERICK FOY. We
have more work to do.

As it is generally thought to be the best theory by most FOY researchers, I am
going to use the material and conclusions cited in the AHS document in this and
later chapters of this book with the reservation that we all realize what is
discussed is theory only.
