会話 3 : Migraine Headaches and Prevention
The CT scan results do not show any anomalies, so the doctor
prescribes some medicine.
CT スキャンの結果では異常が見られないので、医師から薬を処方されます。
Doctor : OK. Ms. Xing your CT scan results are back, and it is good news.
Ms. Fei Xing : Good news?
14
Doctor : Yes. We were checking for any brain anomalies or unusual readings.
Ms. Fei Xing : And...?
15
Doctor : And there were no evident signs .
Ms. Fei Xing : That is good.
16
Doctor : Yes. It is good news. I think that your headaches might be migraine-related .
Ms. Fei Xing : Migraine? What does that mean actually?
Doctor : Well. Basically they are typically headaches that affect one half of the head. They are
17
usually pulsating or throbbing in nature, and last from a few hours to three days. You can also get
symptoms that include nausea, vomiting.... and sensitivity to light, sound, or smell.
Ms. Fei Xing : Oh. Yes. Sometimes I cannot stand the smell of food.
Doctor : Yes. This is a usual symptom.
Ms. Fei Xing : What can I do to make it better? The other medication does not seem to be working.
Doctor : Well. We are going to prescribe you some better pain-killers.
Ms. Fei Xing : Good. Is there anything I can do to prevent the symptoms and what is causing them?
Doctor : The causes are varied. It could be due to oestrogen levels or a number of causes.
Ms. Fei Xing : OK. Can I prevent them?
Doctor : Well. A good sleeping schedule is very important. Do you usually sleep regularly? And I
mean do you usually sleep for the same hours and at the same times daily?
Ms. Fei Xing : No. My sleep is very irregular. Sometimes I sleep late, and sometimes I sleep very
little.
Doctor : Well... Adjusting your sleep schedule may be a very good way to prevent the headaches.
Ms. Fei Xing : I will try that.
Doctor : I am also going to prescribe you some anti-nausea medication too.
Ms. Fei Xing : Thank you.
Doctor : Please take this only when you get nauseous.
