During the past week, the acquisition by gift of
Samuel P. Avery’s famous Chinese cloisonnés to the
Brooklyn Museum of Art has been widely talked
about and much discussed. Cloisonnés are the rage at
the present moment and these are of great historical
value…
Art annals show that this is the largest collection of
old cloisonné upon exhibition in this country at the
present time. Art critics from the prominent cities
in the East have been so interested in this collection
that they have journeyed to this borough in order
that they might actually see the beauties and wonders
of this old cloisonné.
