A PALE GREEN JADE OPENWORK PLAQUE
Ming Dynasty
Of rectangular form deftly carved in openwork
with a Buddhist lion chasing a brocaded ball and a
dancing male figure, all reserved on a diaper ground,
set within a hongmu frame and stand, overall
14.5cm (5 5/8in) high; together with a pale green
and russet jade mythical beast plaque, the beast
clasping a lingzhi fungus in its jaws, Ming dynasty,
velvet mount, 12.2cm (4 3/4in) long; and a lapis
lazuli Buddhist lion plaque, 18th/19th century, velvet
mount, 8.7cm (3 3/8in) long. (6).
