A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF
GUANDI
MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
The god of war is shown seated with his
hands resting on his knees. He is wearing
robes and elaborate armour detailed with a
lion-form epaulet and incised decorations
in the form of leafy scroll and cloud
pattern. His face has a fierce expression
beneath the cloth cap which is tied with a
ribbon.
