               A RARE FAHUA FIGURE OF
               SHAKYAMUNI
               MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
               The figure is finely modelled wearing
               loose robes tied at the waist, seated in
               dhysanasana on a lotus throne supported
               on high hexagonal pedestal of waisted
               stepped form. The rounded face is featured
               with downcast eyes, and the mouth gently
               indented at the corners to provide a smiling
               expression. The face is flanked on either
               side by long pendulous ear lobes below
               the hair arranged in tight curls rising to a
               domed ushnisha.
