A CARVED TIANHUANG ‘QILIN’ SQUARE SEAL
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The square seal is surmounted by a finial carved in the form of
a recumbent qilin with two horns and a beard, its scales finely
detailed, grasping a spray of lingzhi in its mouth. The seal is carved
with four characters.

The irregularly-shaped seal is surmounted by a recumbent single-
horned chilong with a bifurcated tail. The seal face is plain.

QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The square-section seal is surmounted by a finial in the form of
Xuanwu, the tortoise-like Guardian of the Four Directions, riding
against the tides. The seal face is plain.
