A FINE AND RARE SMALL JUN ‘BUBBLE’ BOWL
NORTHERN SONG (960-1127)
The bowl has rounded sides rising to an incurving rim, supported
on a short unglazed foot. It is applied with a glaze of sky-blue tone,
thinning to mushroom on the rim.

‘Bubble’ bowls in this size are very rare. Two comparable examples base
are in the Meiyingtang Collection, illustrated in Regina Krahl, Chinese 底部
Ceramics from the Meiyintang Collection, vol. 1, London, 1994, nos. 384
and 388, pp. 220-221 and also another example with smaller size in the
Beijing Palace Museum, illustrated in Zhongguo taoci quanji: Junyao,
vol. 12, Kyoto, 1983, pl. 42.
北宋 鈞窯天青釉小盌
如此件形制的鈞窯小盌極為罕見。玫茵堂珍藏中有兩件例子可資比較:
見康蕊君,《玫茵堂中國陶瓷》,卷 1,倫敦,1994 年,圖版 384 及 388 號,
頁 220-221。另一件尺寸較小的,則屬北京故宮博物院館藏,見《中國
陶瓷大系:鈞窯》,卷 12,京都,1983 年,圖版 42 號。
