A FINE LONGQUAN CELADON ‘LOTUS’ BOWL A FINE SMALL LONGQUAN CELADON FISH-

The bowl is moulded to the exterior with a band of slender lotus SOUTHERN SONG-YUAN DYNASTY (1127-1368)
petals, emanating from the foot. It is covered in a glaze of soft
bluish sea-green tone, pooling in the crevices of the decoration and The censer is flanked on either side with a stylised fish-form
stopping neatly at the foot. handle, covered overall with a thick, satiny glaze of sea-green tone,

The Japanese wood box accompanying this tea bowl is inscribed with ‘Song’ Ceramics, sold at Sothey’s New York, 23 Mach 2011,
the signature Seian, which is the studio name of Umegami, Songyu lot 535
(1881-1945), a renowned Buddhist monk as well as a tea master based
