A glass ‘Mandarin’ necklace, chaozhu
Late 19th century
Strung with 108 sky-blue glass beads, with larger green
glass beads, the three auxiliary strands with green beads
terminating with aventurine glass drop pendants mounted
in kingfisher-inlaid metal attachments, the main tassel with
a blue glass plaque and drop pendant.

A chalcedony, amethyst and lapis lazuli
‘Mandarin’ necklace, chaozhu
Late Qing Dynasty
Strung with one-hundred and eight green hardstone
beads, separated with four larger lapis balls, and many
stained bone ringlets, the auxiliary strands with ten
amethyst beads suspending agate pendant drops, the
central tassel suspending a green glass oval.

A lapis lazuli and coral ‘Mandarin’
necklace, chaozhu
19th century
Strung with one-hundred and eight lapis lazuli beads with
coral and turquoise spacers, the three ancillary tassels
with coral and jadeite beads and lapis pendant drops, the
rear central tassel suspending a gilt-metal mounted hair
crystal cabochon and a jadeite pendant drop. Approx.
