           A RARE GILT-ZITAN FIGURE OF KURUKULLA
           TIBET, EARLY 16TH CENTURY

           the four-armed goddess dancing in pratyalidhasana on a lotus
           base, the principal hands holding a flaying knife and a skull
           bowl, the voluptuous body further adorned with a garland, a
           crown of five skulls, armbands and earrings
           20.8 cm, 8¼ in.

           The outcome of Carbon-14 testing is consistent with the dating
           of this lot.
