A BLUE AND WHITE ‘DRAGON’ DISH
WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A
DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1573-1619)
The dish is decorated to the interior with a front-facing fve-clawed dragon
chasing the faming pearl amongst scattered fame scrolls and ruyi-shaped
clouds. The exterior is boldly decorated with two further striding dragons
chasing the faming pearl.
