           the exterior with bands of shou characters encircled within
           leafy scrolls, divided by four notched vertical flanges and all
           reserved on a turquoise-blue ground

           QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
           each of lobed section, rising from a splayed foot to a galleried
           rim, the body elaborately and brightly painted with multi-
           coloured stylised lotus sprigs and archaistic scrolls, between a
           ruyi border below the rim and a gilt border at the foot, detailed
           with a keyfret band and further foliate scrolls at the rim, all
           reserved against a turquoise ground, the base painted white
