A YELLOW AND RUSSET JADE ‘LUOHAN AND DRAGON’
SNUFF BOTTLE
1780-1850
Of rounded square outline, the sloping shoulders rising to the short
tubular neck with broad flat lip, the russet skin carved with a dragon
amid clouds, emerging to confront a luohan holding a staff beneath a
pine tree, all supported on a short oval foot ring, the stone with cloudy
white inclusions.
