A SMALL BRONZE DRAGON-HANDLED INCENSE BURNER, GUI
MING DYNASTY, 16TH CENTURY
of archaistic gui form, the compressed globular body rising from three short feet to a
waisted neck, flanked by a pair of handles in the form of a stylised dragon, the base cast
with a recessed rectangular panel enclosing an apocryphal six-character Xuande mark in
kaishu, the bronze patinated to a warm caramel-brown colour
