A BELL-SHAPED BRONZE MIRROR
SONG DYNASTY
cast in the shape of a bell with an angular handle at the top, cast with a loop handle with a
zig-zag opening and suspending a loose ring, above a four-character seal mark reading Li
dao ren zao ('Made by Daoist Li') and flanked by a low-relief eight-character inscription
highlighting the Daoist function of the mirror reading feijian sijing yizhuang errong, the
bronze patinated to a greenish-brown colour
