A HEXAGONAL BRONZE VASE
YUAN DYNASTY
of hexagonal form, the pear-shaped body rising from a splayed foot to a waisted neck and
flared rim, the sides divided into six separate panels by slightly protruding vertical ridges,
each side further divided into four quadrants by horizontal ridges, each diapered quadrant
enclosing archaistic motifs, the neck flanked by a pair of handles in the form of ruyi-shaped
cloud swirls, the exterior patinated to simulate a lacquer-like surface
