A HAN-STYLE BRONZE VASE AND COVER, HU
SONG DYNASTY
of archaistic hu form, cast with a globular body surmounted by a waisted neck and slightly
flared rim, all supported on a short foot, cast with a pair of taotie mask handles suspending
a loose ring, the slightly convex cover set with three mythical beast projections, the bronze
of a variegated brown patination with malachite-green and cuprite-red encrustation
