91     A BEIGE AND GREY JADE
                ‘SANYANG’ GROUP
       ⋩ 䌱      17TH CENTURY
       ᶫ 晽      carved in the round as three recumbent rams, the two smaller
       ᶾ ᶱ      rams nuzzling against the parent, each with almond-shaped
       䲨ġġġ 春   eyes, ß oppy ears, a pair of curved horns relaxed against the neck
           攳    and a short goatee, a wisp of qi ß owing from the parent’s mouth
           㲘    and forming a small cloud by the tail, a disc carved with a yin-
           㒢    yang symbol rising from the cloud, the stone a translucent beige-
           ẞ    white with opaque dark gray inclusions

                                                            ᶾ 匟      other and resting on a lotus pad, the larger grasping a bunch of
                                                            䲨ġġġ 叱   lotus stems in the beak, one stem attached to a large blossom
                                                                泃    and another to an unfurling leaf, the smaller duck with a lotus
                                                                泎    bud, the base carved in low relief with a spray of swaying leaves,
                                                                㒢    the pale gray stone with black patches
