ZHANG DAQIAN (1899-1983)
Born in Xixian, Henan province, Howard H.S. Chao (1920-2012) was a well-known journalist Boating
in China and Japan. After he moved to the United States in 1952, he taught Chinese at Yale
University and authored several books and a syndicated news column. Professor Chao Scroll, mounted and framed, ink on paper
received these two paintings during Zhang Daqian’s visits to the United States, when the 17 º x 24 √ in. (44 x 63.3 cm.)
