A LARGE BLUE AND WHITE SQUARE
BALUSTER VASE
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The mid-section of the vase is painted in vibrant cobalt blue
with the babao supported on lotus blossoms emerging from
dense leafy scrolls. above the ribbed foot decorated with
upright plantains below a peony-scroll band, and below a
flaring neck similarly painted and flanked on both sides with
a pair of stylised dragon handles.
