The seals are carved from a single boulder with square section                        已亥重九後二日,鹿原林佶。」
rising to a sloping upper surface.The top of one is carved in low
relief, dexterously utilising the skin of the stone, with a dragon        鳳章
gazing down on its young striding amongst lingzhi, echoing the

five-character stanza followed by a signature, Ziwei Neishi, the

The two carved characters, Cang men, can be identified as the carver

Dong Cangmen who was known to have been active in the Kangxi

period. Works that bear the signature of Dong Cangmen are extremely

rare. Compare to a tianhuang seal with a similarly carved signature of

Cangman in private collection is illustrated by Akashi Shunpo, Dennou

Juzanseki, Tokyo, 1995, p. 72 (fig. A).
