A FAMILLE ROSE RUBY-BACK DISH AND BOWL

YONGZHENG PERIOD (1723-1735)

Each with semi-eggshell bodies, the dish is enamelled to the

interior with two butterflies above floral sprays, and the bowl has

a single rose sprig to the centre. Both exteriors are covered in an

enamel of rich mottled pink tone.

Compare with a bowl and a dish of this pattern dating to the
Yongzheng period from the Christina Loke Balsara collection, sold at
Christie’s Hong Kong, 19 January 1988, lots 285 and 286; and another
bowl and dish sold at Sotheby’s Paris, 16 December 2010, lot 280.
