A PAIR OF YELLOW-GROUND AUBERGINE-
ENAMELLED ‘DRAGON’ DISHES
TONGZHI SIX-CHARACTER MARKS in AUBERGINE ENAMEL AND OF THE
PERIOD (1862-1874)
The dishes have shallow rounded sides rising from a short foot,
and the interior is incised with two five-clawed dragons chasing
a flaming pearl. The reverse is enamelled with leafy clusters of
grapes.
