MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The lychee are carved as two conjoined
fruit growing from a single, gnarled,
openwork stem with overhanging leaves.
The exterior of the fruits are carved in
low relief to resemble the texture of the
skin. The stone is of pale tone with russet
striations and inclusions.

‘QUAILS’ GROUP
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The group is carved as a quail and its
young, holding a spray of millet in their
mouths which trails along their backs.
The opaque stone is of an even creamy-
white tone with scattered areas of russet
inclusions.
