A BLACK LINGBI VERTICAL SCHOLAR'S ROCK
19TH-EARLY 20TH CENTURY
The rock has numerous small perforations and a prominent
overhang to one side. The stone has a dimpled surface and is
of homogeneous black color and with an attractive luster.

This rock is an exceptionally high-quality specimen of
Lingbi stone, with an attractive homogenous black surface
and only limited occurrences of white calcite. The stone
exhibits the typical Lingbi luster and texture, and emits a
fine resonance when tapped with a metal object.

A PAIR OF JICHIMU STOOLS, FANGDENG
18TH CENTURY
Carved in imitation of bamboo furniture, each stool has
a single-panel top is set in a square frame and raised on
round-section legs joined by corner spandrels and straight
stretchers.
