'HORSE AND MONKEY' GROUP
17TH-18TH CENTURY
The group is well carved as a recumbent
horse, with the legs tucked under the body
and the head turned to look at the monkey
carefully balanced on the horse's rump. The
stone is of pale greenish-grey tone with fine
white mottling and with russet inclusions.

OF AN ELEPHANT
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The recumbent elephant is well carved with
its head turned to one side, and the mottled
opaque stone ranges in color from creamy-
white to shades of brown.
