GREEN JADE BRUSH POT

The tapering cylindrical body is raised on five compressed ruyi-head Property from a Private American Collection; Christie's New York, 25
supports, and is carved in high relief with two pairs of figures on March 1998, lot 349.
horseback and their accompanying tribute bearers and attendants
forming a procession along mountain paths, against a backdrop of
trees and pavilions. The tribute bearers are shown wearing loose robes
and tall horn-shaped hats, and together with the attendants, they carry
auspicious objects as tribute, including a peach branch, coral, a model
of a pavilion, lingzhi fungus filling a jardinière, a flaming pearl pushed
in a cart, and a brocade ball carried by an attendant followed by a
Buddhist lion. The mouth rim is slightly rounded and the stone is a rich
mottled green color, flecked with black.
