                   A FINELY DECORATED BLUE AND WHITE BOWL
                   EARLY KANGXI PERIOD, 17TH CENTURY
                   The bowl is decorated on the exterior with two birds in flight,
                   besides blossoming prunus and camellia branches, and
                   bamboo growing amidst rocks. The interior has bamboo and
                   aster amidst rocks in the medallion.

                   PROVENANCE:
                   The Collection of a Lady of Title, England.
                   The soft dots surrounding the birds and flowers of the
                   present bowl are usually associated with early Kangxi
                   period blue and white wares. A Kangxi-mark and period
                   blue and white bowl, with a related scene of birds and
                   peony, is illustrated in Kangxi. Yongzheng. Qianlong. Qing
                   Porcelain from the Palace Museum Collection, Hong Kong,
                   1989, pp. 28-29, no. 11.
