CELADON AND RUSSET 'CHILONG' WATER

19th century
The first a 'three rams' group, carved as a
recumbent adult ram flanked by two young lambs,
accompanied by a cluster of cloud scrolls, the stone
a celadon hue with russet patches; the second
an ovoid water coupe, the exterior worked in relief
with three clambering chilong amidst cloud scrolls,
the stone a celadon hue with an attractive patch of
russet skin. (2)
'Three rams' group: 2 1/4in (5.7cm) high
Water coupe: 4in (10.2cm) long; wood stand

A 'HORSE AND GROOM' CELADON JADE
CARVING
The stocky equine depicted standing four-square
with its head lowered to the ground, accompanied
by a groom standing at the rear and brushing the
animal's left flank, the stone a pale green hue with
attractive bands of dark inclusions and speckles.
