           A CELADON AND SPINACH-GREEN JADE HAT STAND        Compare the present example to a hat stand with a similar form but
           20th century                                      with a hardwood shaft and base, see Robert Kleiner, Chinese Jades
           Carved with a domed hat rest with two dragons in relief pursuing   from the Collection of Alan and Simone Hartman, Hong Kong, 1996,
           flaming pearls amidst clouds, centered by a circular medallion carved   p.56-57, cat no. 51, and sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 27th November
           with a dragon in relief, the underside similarly decorated, all raised on a  2007, lot 1536. from the Victoria and Albert Museum, London (acc.
           shaft carved with cloud scrolls and separated by a rounded midsection  no.476.18-6). Similar hat stands were made in a variety of different
           worked with raised scroll patterns, the circular base with raised scrolls,   mediums including porcelain, cloisonné enamel, and lacquer. See
           all supported by a jade inlaid circular hardwood stand.   an example of similar form but in cinnabar from the British Museum,
           13 3/4in (35cm) high, overall                     London (acc.no.1958,0729.41).
