The birds carved with their heads turned facing
towards each other, their legs tucked neatly
underneath rounded bodies, the wings incised with
plumage, each grasping gnarled branches issuing
lingzhi and peaches, the stone a pale green hue with
russet and milky white inclusions.

A WHITE JADE 'TORTOISE-DRAGON AND
CHILONG' GROUP
Late 18th-early 19th century
Carved in the form of a crouching tortoise dragon
with fang teeth and bulging eyes, its head carved
with a pair of curved horns, the shell covered in
geometric diaper patterns, the back supporting two
clambering chilong, the stone a pale green hue with
black and russet inclusions and veins.
