A white jade model of a recumbent goat
18th century
The even white pebble carved as a goat with head held high and two
twisted horns reaching down the arched back, the beard flowing over
the chest and all fours legs tucked underneath supported on a delicate
cloud scroll.

A pale green jade carving of a recumbent horse
Ming Dynasty
The attractively carved animal shaped with its head turned over
its back to nuzzle its left hind leg and the other three legs tucked
underneath its hunched body, the long tail flowing between its hind
legs and over the belly.
