A bronze figure of a lokapala
Tang Dynasty
The figure with thick frowning brows beneath a high topknot, the bare
muscular torso energetically twisting to the right with the right arm reaching
downwards and the left arm raised above the shoulder, the right foot planted
squarely and the left heel raised, the loin cloth sweeping out behind the figure,
all raised on a separately-cast square plinth.

A small bronze figure of a seated Bodhisattva
Probably Nepalese, circa 11th-13th century
The heavily cast small figure with incised highly-arched brows beneath a
tall three-pointed crown, the eyes half-closed in contemplation, the broad
shoulders above a long narrow waist covered with a flowing robe with richly-
decorated hems, the hands resting in dhyana mudra and the legs crossed in the
lotus position.

A bronze figure of Amitabha
Tibet, 13th/14th century
The Bodhisattva cast with eyes downcast in serene contemplation beneath
high incised brows, the hair raised in a topknot behind an elaborate Buddhist
crown of foliate peaks linked with ribbons falling down towards the stylised
lotus stems rising on either side of the slender-waisted torso and long arms also
embellished with foliate jewellery, the arms held gently in dhyanamudra above
the crossed legs, the figure seated on a separately-cast double-lotus pedestal.
