A PAIR OF PORCELAIN PLAQUES
Of tall rectangular section depicting snowy mountain scenes of lonely
pavilions by winter waterways, the first entitled han chuang xue du or
‘Reading the Snow by a Cold Window’ and the second entitled kong
shan ji xue or ‘Snow Piling Up in an Empty Mountain;’ both bearing
signatures and seals of He Xuren and bearing a xinwei and Minguo
ershi nian date equivalent to 1931 (losses to enamels, scratches).
