               A SMALL CAST BRONZE CENSER
6349           Qin shu lu mark
               Of compressed globular form raised on three conical legs, the loop
114 | BONHAMS  handles rising at an oblique angle from the rim, the exterior surfaces
               finished in a warm chocolate brown patina and the flat base centered
               with a rectangular reserve displaying the three-character mark in seal
               script.
               5in (12.7cm) diameter

               The three-character mark is a sobriquet identified with an early Ming
               official, Wu Bangzuo, whose name appears in two different marks on
               bronze censers: for a sixteen-character inscription identifying him as
               superintendent of the Board of Public Works in during Xuande fifth
               year [1430], see Bonhams, San Francisco sale 21034, 18 December
               2013, lot 6487; for an eighteen-character inscription recording a
               censer cast under his supervision for the Great Sacrifice in the same
               year, see Bonhams, London sale 23238, 10 November 2016, lot 91.

               A SMALL ARCHAISTIC BRONZE RECTANGULAR CENSER
               17th/18th century
               Cast in shallow raised relief with dissolved taotie masks set against a
               leiwen pattern in horizontal reserves on the long sides of the censer,
               the leiwen pattern repeating on the fronts of the corner cabriole
               legs and the in-curving rim on the short sides supporting a pair of
               depressed loop handles, the patina of warm chocolate brown hue
               (wear from use).

               A SMALL CAST BRONZE CENSER
               Xuande mark, 17th/18th century
               Cast with an upright rim and a pair of lion head handles projecting
               from the curving walls along with bands of ascending and
               descending lotus petals, the upright foot surrounding a recessed
               base bearing the six-character mark in standard script within a
               rectangular recess (wear to lacquer patina).
               5 1/2in (14cm) width across the handles
