           A fine Satsuma dish
           Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th century
           The hexagonal earthenware dish with a wide rim, set on a ring foot
           and painted in polychrome enamels and gilt on a clear crackled
           ground with an elaborate festival float and children, the rim painted
           with chrysanthemum heads and scrolling vines, the underside with
           chrysanthemum and vines, signed in gilt Yabu Meizan
           7in (18cm) diameter
