田世光 花鳥圖 設色紙本 立軸
Provenance:
from a Boston private collection
Tian Shiguang was a native of Beijing (where he
painted this work) and studied under Qi Baishi,
Zhang Daqian and Yu Fei’an among others.
He was especially close to Zhang Daqian, and
though they were separated by Zhang’s 1949
flight from China, one of Zhang’s last acts
before his death was to send Tian Shiguang an
album of his paintings. Tian was highly regarded
by his contemporaries and maintained a friendly
and often collaborative relationship with Xu
Beihong.
