A blue overlay white glass snuff bottle
Yangzhou school, 1800-1840
Of compressed pear spherical form with a flat
lip and sapphire blue oval foot rim surrounding
a flat foot, with fixed mask ring handles to each
side, the blue glass carved in low relief with one
face with a fisherman on a rocky outcropping,
with a seal overhead reading Daya, the other
face with a boy in boat with lotus beneath the
inscription Xiang Yuan Yi Qing, the water’s
ripples lightly etched into the glass.

A dragon and phoenix glass overlay
snuff bottle
19th century
Of upright rounded rectangular form, with
a flat lip and wide mouth, the opaque white
glass with an overlay of red and blue, with
a blue dragon on one side, reversed by a
phoenix in red, with a red overlay foot rim
with waves under the dragon changing to
rocks under the phoenix.

the V & A example also has the transforming
