A pair of “liuqing” style bamboo wrist rests
Zhu Wenyou, 19th century
Attractively carved in liuqing technique retaining the lighter skin above the
striated inner fiber, each rest depicting a woman leaning on a wutong tree
with a walking crane, each inscribed in low relief reading Qiu tong shi nv
tu in clerical script, dated yiwei and signed Wenyou followed by a carved
relief seal reading Zhu.
