A PAIR OF BRONZE TAOTIE MASKS AND RINGS
Warring States period
Each finely cast in low relief on one side, the face of the mythical
beast with fierce eyes below a pair of curled horns, the ears and
cheeks modeled with cloud scrolls to suggest thick fur, the ground
decorated with leiwen pattern, below the grinned mouth a faceted
band to receive the separate, undecorated ring, the back plain
with a short pin for attachment, overall covered with a light green
encrustation.
